Hardware distributor, FortuneTec, has formed a new partnership with RAID vendor, Areca.
FortuneTec managing director, Justin Hsu, said the decision to bring the vendor on-board was formed following its partnership late last year with storage vendor, Netstor.
“The partnership with Netstor means we need a high-end RAID product to go with it,” he said. “We will be bundling with Netstor external multibays storages as well as selling the HBA separately.
“The bundling opportunities were the main purpose behind this partnership.”
As the uptake of VMware, cloud computing and SMB datacentres improves, demand for these kinds of solutions will also increase, Hsu said.
“We expect this to become a very popular solution within the next two years. Smaller and more low powered computers have become more prominent, which means people are utilising applications from other sources," he said.
“The market has been slow, but we are seeing more specialised orders. People are not buying as much, but they are buying tailored solutions to help their businesses.”
