Emerson expands MCS distribution deal

Mission Critical Systems gets access to more UPS products to drive Emerson's South Australian channel sales

Adelaide-based distributor, Mission Critical Systems (MCS), has expanded its agreement with Emerson Network Power to include the vendor’s full product range.

Previously, MCS only had access to single-phase UPS products and Liebert precision air conditioning systems. It will now stock Liebert computer room air conditioning (CRAC) and power UPS products, Knurr racks, monitoring equipment and ASCO transfer switches.

Emerson director of marketing, Peter Spiteri, cited increasing demand from South Australian resellers to offer the whole Emerson range. Just over a year ago, the power vendor established a partnership with MCS to access its small power products.

“It’s a combination of MCS doing a good job and resellers asking for greater access to our products,” he said. “It’s a reasonable market in South Australia. We didn’t have a regional distributor there and we’re filling out our plan to have national coverage and a strong local distributor.”

In statement, MCS head, Scott Traver, said the expanded deal would open up new market opportunities for both organisations in the SA market place.

Westcon Group is Emerson’s national distribution partner.

In January, Emerson introduced a datacentre measurement metric that allows customers to quantify efficiencies in datacentre equipment.
