Plantronics has launched its Savi Series of Unified Communications (UC) wireless headsets at CeBIT.
The Savi Series includes the Savi Office and the Savi Go, which cost $649 and $349 respectively. Both offerings are compatible with the UC systems from Avaya, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, as well as Google Talk and Skype.
The Savi Office features a noise-cancelling microphone and is designed to connect with PCs for softphone calls, as well as desk phones. Users can choose between an over-the-ear and an over-the-head headset.
The Savi Go is a rechargeable Bluetooth headset that can connect to Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and laptops, as well as computers via a USB Bluetooth adaptor. The Class 1 Bluetooth USB adaptor has a maximum range of up to 60m. Users can choose between a version optimised for Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 and another version that operates with other UC platforms.
The Savi Go variant optimised for Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 and the entire Savi Office range will be available through Plantronics resellers from May. The Savi Go for other UC platforms will be available by September.
