Maccentric has expanded its presence with the opening of a third store in Westfield Miranda.
Managing director, Henrik Kocharians, said he had conducted extensive research into where he would open a new store.
He also announced the reseller would upgrade its Warringah Mall location.
“The Sutherland Shire is one area that lacks a good quality Apple operation,” he said. “A lot of our customers told us that up until now they would have to travel up to an hour to go the Apple store in George St to get that kind of experience.”
The new open plan store, which has been operating for one week, allows customers to touch and feel all types of Apple products from every iPod variation through to Macbooks, iMacs and third party accessories.
“The opening weekend of the Miranda store, was the biggest we’ve ever done in sales in the seven years we’ve been operating. We had about 1500 people walk through the store,” he said.
As a result of the new opening, Maccentric has hired 15 staff and plans to hire more with the Warringah outlet upgrade, which is two-and-a-half times the previous size, measuring 125sqm.
It would replicate the Miranda fit-out and be operational by early July, Kocharians said.
“The one thing that we’ll never do is cut down on the level of support we provide for customers, which usually comes with good, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff,” he said. “We outgrew the Warringah Mall location within the first six months. We’ve been trying to locate a bigger store and we’ve finally located a new space to lease.”
