Fujitsu enhances SAP skills through aquisition of Supply Chain Consulting

Supply Chain Consulting to be integrated with the Fujitsu's new Kaz business as it seeks to leverage the new customer base to continue growth

Fujitsu has acquired Supply Chain Consulting in a move to boost its SAP capabilities.

The acquisition, which comes shortly after the integrator purchased Kaz for $200 million, is a $48 million deal.

“With the growth path that we are on, following the acquisition of Kaz and its capabilities in Federal Government, we have a large number of new customers,” Fujitsu CEO, Rod Vawdrey, said.

“What we found Kaz didn’t have strength in is SAP, and it’s a hard business to find skills in, so the best way to rapidly grow a skills base is through an acquisition such as Supply Chain Consulting.”

Supply Chain Consulting has around 160 people in Australia, all of whom will be retained, Vawdrey said. Fujitsu is not looking for further acquisitions at this stage, as it will be busy integrating both Kaz and Supply Chain Consulting.

“It’ll take us around six months to integrate Supply Chain Consulting,” Vawdrey said. “We expect it to be operating very quickly and it will be a seamless integration.

“Our goal is to be able to go after business effectively in any area. Our enhanced SAP capabilities will help us to actively participate in extra avenues of business with the new customers opened to us.”

Supply Chain Consulting also has a presence in some South East Asian markets. Fujitsu will be leveraging the support of the Philippines in particular to support the local consultants.
