This wireless megapixel camera connects quickly and easily to a home or office network to enable remote video viewing. With its compact design and integrated Wi-Fi capability, the DCS-2121 can be mounted on ceilings and walls. The unit can be accessed remotely and controlled from any PC or notebook over the local network or through the Internet via a Web browser. Unlike a standard Web cam, the DCS-2121 is a complete system with a built-in CPU and Web server that transmit high quality video images for security and surveillance. It has a 1.3 megapixel CMOS sensor and supports simultaneous MJPEG and MPEG-4 high quality video streams, allowing optimisation of both image quality and bandwidth effi ciency. The camera allows users to take snapshots and recording directly from the Web browser to a local hard drive without installing any software. Direct recording to a local network area storage device is also supported without the use of a dedicated PC for storing recorded video.
