Budget airline, Jetstar, has selected Hostworks to manage part of its Jetstar.com online portal.
The website services eight countries – Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – and is expected to receive 100,000 unique visitors daily. The booking engine of the site will remain hosted by Navitaire.
Hostworks sales and marketing director, Klaus Bartosch, said the deal was a significant win for the hosting provider, as it had not worked with Jetstar previously and won the tender in a competitive bid.
“There were three other companies that submitted tenders,” Bartosch said. “It’s always a significant deal for us when a major brand name joins the portfolio – Jetstar’s online property is significant.”
Bartosch claimed the deal was a good indication of the success that Hostworks was having.
“For the first half of the year we’ve achieved double the sales on any other year,” he said. “Hosting services help customers reduce costs, and there’s a continued evolution of businesses running applications online and looking to outsource that IT.”
