Internet security vendor, Panda Security, has appointed SecureServ as its first distribution partner in Australia.
The deal came about when the security services distributor approached Panda Security and proposed a possible unified threat management (UTS) alliance.
“We wanted to take advantage of the growing UTS market,” SecureServ general manager, Vic Whiteley, said. “Our company was involved in the UTM space 4-5 years ago but the products back then didn’t fit our criteria.
“We’ve known of Panda Security for quite some time now so we contacted them for a discussion and they agreed to go ahead with the partnership.”
The distributor will take on Panda Security’s Internet security and antivirus software range. Whitely claimed the UTM feature of Panda Security’s product line is a big step in SecureServ’s current portfolio.
“We also want to develop automated services functionality that we can sell through our resellers,” he said.
In a statement, Panda Security Australian managing director, Andrew Hart, said the vendor had been looking for a channel partner to help cultivate the company’s local presence. SecureServ was chosen for its reputation as a rapidly growing distributor.
Panda Security also offers online training to resellers that wish to gain accreditation.
