BitDefender first vendor for newly-formed distributor

BitDefender has formed a partnership with Pulse One Technologies
Security vendor, BitDefender, has formed a partnership with newly-formed distribution unit, Pulse One Technologies. Sister company to 888 software, WA-based Pulse One has been set up to focus on taking BitDefender to both retail and corporate environments.
Pulse One managing director, Paul Simmons, said the distributor would look to take on additional vendors in the longer term, however, for now it was focused on building the channel for BitDefender.
“We only received our first shipment in February, and we’re currently at four staff,” Simmons said.
“Towards the end of the year we’ll look to move offices and bring in additional staff around corporate sales and technical support - currently we’re redirecting support to BitDefender’s headquarters in Romania.”
The go-to-market strategy will be based around price, Simmons said. To launch, the distributor is offering a ‘buy one, get one free’, promotional offer, which it hopes will attract the initial attention of resellers.
BitDefender will also continue to work with its current distributor partner, NetFreighters.
In a release, BitDefender global sales director, Lucian Cristea, said Pulse One’s appeal was its commitment to both retail and wholesale markets and its compatibility with BitDefender’s growth plans for Australia.
