Whitegold expands into Perth

Specialist distributor, WhiteGold Solutions, is continuing to grow, with new offices and staff, despite the economic climate.
It now has four offices spread over Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, which was opened this month, and Brisbane, which opened five months ago. WhiteGold managing director, Dominic Whitehand, said the distributor had considered opening an office in New Zealand as well, but chose to fast-track the expansion into Perth instead, on account of the weak NZ market.
It has also tripled floorspace at its Sydney warehouse.
Twenty-year industry veteran, Louise Aspinall, has been appointed as the state manager for WA. She previously worked in business development and sales for IBM, CSC, GE Capital IT and Thales Australia.
Whitehand said WhiteGold is also recruiting heavily. It now has five staff members in Melbourne, and three positions open across its offices. It also hopes increase its Perth headcount by the end of the year.
“We will continue to bring on new staff despite the economic downturn and we see opportunities for security solutions take-up to continue to grow,” he said.
WhiteGold will also refresh its website to provide online quoting facilities, to go live in a few months and is looking to recruit new vendors, Whitehand said.
