McAfee local director moves up the hierarchy

Regional director, Gavin Struthers, promoted from regional director to Asia-Pacific channels and operations director

Software vendor, McAfee, has promoted Gavin Struthers from regional director to Asia-Pacific channels and operations director.

The new position involves implementing go-to-market strategies for McAfee's key products and solutions, as well as driving improved sales operational execution across the business.

In late 2008, Struther was involved in McAfee’s launch of online SMB licence renewal tools for local partners. In a statement, he said the vendor had an increased focus on channel engagement in 2009 and is well-positioned to help partners provide security and risk solutions that achieve growth, while addressing evolving threats and growing compliance requirements.

Struthers has been with the vendor for six years, and worked in various sales and general management roles for over 20 years across Australia, the Middle East, the Mediterranean and South Africa. Prior to moving to Australia in 2000, he spent three years establishing a regional presence for Novell in several countries throughout the Middle East and the Mediterranean.

McAfee has appointed Andrew Littleproud to replace Struthers as regional director.
