SoftGen gets full wings with Astaro

Security distributor, SoftGen, has upgraded its partnership with vendor, Astaro, to full distributor status.
Astaro now has two distributors in Australia. The other is TechPlus.
SoftGen general manager, Guy Coles, said the ability to supply resellers officially and without restriction was a big boost for the company.
“The new partnership allows us to leverage off our Sunbelt reseller base, as the two vendors are very complementary,” Coles said. “As a sub-distributor our buyback didn’t allow us to supply to the full channel.”
Astaro and SoftGen have been in partnership since September 2008. Coles said the response to the upgrade in the partnership has been welcomed by resellers.
“We’ve got eight resellers on our books,” he said. “We’ll be putting up a unified Astaro front with TechPlus, but there will be some partners who will play the two of us off one another.”
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
