Neverfail has entered into an OEM licensing agreement with VMware
Data protection and disaster recovery software vendor, Neverfail, has entered into an OEM licensing agreement with VMware.
The deal involves Neverfail’s continuous availability technology and application management framework software integrated into VMware’s latest vCenter Server Heartbeat, which monitors and manages automatic failover of VMware’s vCenter Server.
Neverfail Asia Pacific channel sales director, Kieran O’Shaughnessy, said VMware partners would be trained up on the vCenter Heartbeat product. They will then have the expertise and skills to deploy any Neverfail solutions.
“This lowers the cost of entry to becoming a Neverfail partner, because it’s expensive to get technical people trained and certified,” he said. “If they’re already doing this through VMware then they’ve already got the core competencies and skills to deploy Neverfail technologies.”
Through this OEM agreement, Neverfail will engage closely with VMware partners and has already signed up several, including Data #3, S Central and Harbour IT. The vendor has 20 Australian partners.
“We’ve been in recruitment mode with bringing new partners on-board and there’s another number in the pipeline,” he said. “My strategy is about having a relatively small number of partners but looking for the right ones that see the opportunity and want to engage proactively.”
The vendor is also looking to expand its head count to five and is searching for a couple of new hires, one of which will specifically focus on its VMware relationship.
Neverfail set up an Australian presence in May last year.
