OziSoft takes Challenge

Games distributor OziSoft has announced Lotus Challenge for PlayStation 2 is due for release September 28. Published by Virgin Interactive and developed by simulation specialists Kuju, Lotus Challenge will afford players the opportunity to drive some of the world's most desirable cars. Famous racing cars will also feature prominently, with a mix of Formula One and sports cars available. The game contains a multitude of special effects and includes a multiplayer option. Lotus Challenge is the first game since the release of GT3 to be 100-per-cent compatible with the GT3 steering wheel.

SonyCentral Group adds clicks to its bricksThe SonyCentral Group, a Sony-centric group of independent retailers with stores across Australia, have banded together to launch a new Web site - sonycentral.com.auThe site, which goes live this week, links the five national stores via Internet sales and is backed by the sales and service resources of the syndicate. Consumers will be able to access information on Sony's full range of products.

"Consumers are telling us they want both an online and a store option when they shop for Sony products," said SonyCentral spokesperson, Andrew Rose.

Acer hits ace with price match guaranteeAcer has launched a program that it claims will enable channel partners to match the quote price of any competing vendor while guaranteeing a margin for themselves.

The Acer Price Guarantee will see the vendor match any identically specified competitive product from Compaq, Dell, IBM or HP to Acer's range of desktop PCs, notebooks and servers. In addition, Acer will give the customer a $50 voucher to be used for the purchase of any Acer's peripherals featured in its September Buyer's Guide.

The program is being targeted at the SME market.
