Callum Eade has joined Lenovo
Lenovo has snared the services of Callum Eade to replace its outgoing director of small business and consumer, David Nicol.
Eade started in the position on January 12 after just over 18 months with Toshiba’s Information Systems Division as national channel sales manager.
“The responsibility of the role is looking after all sales into the small business and consumer market place. As part of that role Eade also has responsibility for the management of our total channel, so both our direct resellers, our distributors and our indirect resellers and that is because of the importance of the channel in those spaces for us,” Nicol said.
“Obviously, it was important for us to have someone that knows the industry well and he has had experience in both Australia and New Zealand and the scope of this role covers both of those. In his previous roles he has worked with the channel closely.”
Nicol will take up a position as director of business operations with the vendor in its Japan office this month after two years in the role.
In May, 2007, Eade, a former iron man, took up the national channel sales manager position at Toshiba’s ISD after the death of industry veteran, Angus Roberts.
Toshiba representatives were unable to confirm if a replacement for Eade had been appointed at the time of publication.
Lenovo recently announced plans to lay off 2500 workers, cut the salaries of its executives and restructure its Asian operations in an attempt to weather the economic downturn.
