Cisco will raise the price of all its products in january

Cisco intends to raise prices on all products by 18 per cent in reaction to the fall of the Australian dollar against global currencies.

In a statement to partners sighted by ARN, Cisco announced the price increase would become effective as of close of business on January 9. Cisco services would be exempt from the price increases. A spokesperson for the networking giant confirmed the price adjustments would be enforced in the New Year, but declined to comment further.

To prepare partners for the increase, Cisco advise them on order cut-off times shortly and re-confirm requirements for processing orders.

Vendors have been raising their product prices across the board since the Australian dollar dropped by about 30 per cent in the past six months. In November, Acer announced it would raise all the prices on its products by 25 per cent in reaction to the cheap Australian dollar.

At the time of going to press, the Australian dollar was trading at $0.66.
