Panasonic gains AV/IT manager

Rob Mayer appointed to work with integrators and build the vendor's presence

Panasonic has appointed Rob Mayer as its AV/IT business systems group manager as it continues to grow its digital signage presence.

Panasonic director of business systems group, Mark Deere-Jones, said Mayer intially would have three main focuses.

“He'll be looking to continue the momentum we have in the digital signage business, to work more closely with our systems integrator partners to help them with customers, and to develop on the successes we're having in the education vertical,” Deere-Jones said.

Mayer is taking up the role Deere-Jones vacated with his promotion to director. There are no other job openings in the division at present.

“It's a very competitive market but it's also a market that understands the benefits of the solution – the return on investment in this area is quite good,” Deere-Jones said.

“People are realising that you've got to provide as much interaction, information and entertainment as possible to stand out from the competition, and these solutions are a way to facilitate that.”
