CA has announced a partnership with VMware to launch its global Alliance Affiliate Initiative.

The partnership combines CA Recovery Management solutions and VMware’s Virtual Infrastructure along with educational tools, financial incentives and a local co-marketing program to launch on December 1.

CA channel sales manager, Ray McIntyre, said the tie up will help partners deliver functionality and savings to their customers, while giving resellers higher margins and the tools to identify sales leads and sell more.

“Selling virtualisation with CA Recovery Management will give our partners opportunities for additional and larger sales supporting disaster recovery and/or business continuity for a number of reasons,” he said.

“Firstly, customers will see greater value in using both CA Recovery Management and VMware technologies together… they will also be able to reduce their total cost of ownership at the secondary site with reduced floor space, rack space, and power and cooling requirements.”

McIntyre said the capabilities CA Recovery Management provides also represents a purchase driver of almost 20 per cent for virtualisation solutions, and partners can increase their revenue stream by selling complementary professional services and solutions.

“[This] means resellers can earn an extra 10 per cent upfront discount on the CA Recovery Management portion of their combined CA/VMware order, plus have access to complimentary partner toolkits, world class online training, scheduled Webcasts, whitepapers, demos and software evaluations through the CA partner portal,” McIntyre said.

The first CA/VMware sales enablement Webcast is scheduled for Wednesday, November 26.
