Gamers to go XFX with Australia IT

New graphics card line to be offered by the specialist distributor as it sees increased traction in the gaming market

Australia IT has expanded its gamer-focused portfolio by adding a second graphics card vendor, XFX.

XFX joins Gainward in the line up with both vendors producing a range of high-end, nVidia-based graphics cards that target the gaming and enthusiast home user.

Australia IT business development manager, David Wilson, said the cards were well-known in the industry and expected to sell well.

"While the regular white box market is tough at the moment, the gaming market is growing very strongly. XFX target that market really well with factory overclocked cards," Wilson said.

"Gamers are still out there spending money at the moment, and the gaming industry is growing rapidly. New games mean players need better equipment."

Australia IT is well-positioned in the gaming market and the XFX line fits well with its other high-end PC builder portfolio, Wilson said.

"We won't be bundling XFX products with our other vendors, as it sells well by itself on the basis of branding. Our strategy is to get the products bedded in with our customers, and then start promoting to the gaming market," he said.

XFX already has a presence in Australia with Multimedia Technology and will continue to be represented by both distributors.
