Integ Group has a new sales director

UXC subsidiary, Integ Group, has hired Maurice Nicholson as its sales director to drive growth through its managed services offerings.

Integ CEO, Ian Poole, said the integrator saw opportunities for growth over the next two years in communications as a service, managed services around voice, service provider networks, and a combination of the three as an overall solution offering.

“Service provider networks and combination solutions of telephone, infrastructure and management solutions is a new area for us. In all areas we’re moving away from just providing hardware and into managed services. Nicholson’s background is strong in these areas,” Poole said.

Nicholson takes the role previously held by Steve Johnson, who remains with Integ as its sales manager of the communications as a service business.

“We’ve got a lot of opportunity, so my focus is to determine how to get the best return from our resources,” Nicholson said.

“I’ll also be improving the overall capabilities of our sales force as we move into more enterprise and government customers.”

Poole said Integ had not yet observed a downturn in business, despite the economic climate.

“Organisations sill need infrastructure and there has been no slowdown in government spending,” he said.

“We’ve seen some slowing in IP telephony and unified communications spending, but telephony as a service spending is going strong.”

Before joining Integ, Nicholson was with AAPT for seven years, holding positions such as head of medium enterprise sales. He has also held key roles with Telecom NZ and Netway Communications.
