Computerlinks and Sourcefire have done a deal
Security distributor, Computerlinks, has established a new deal to take on the intrusion prevention portfolio from Sourcefire.
The product range includes the Sourcefire 3D System, which can defend both physical and virtual environments.
Computerlinks managing director, Matthew Hales, said the distributor covered three product areas: WAN optimisation, perimeter and end point security.
Sourcefire fits into the distributor’s perimeter security portfolio.
“Australia is the first country where we have established a relationship with Sourcefire,” he said. “It was good timing for us to partner with them in the market.”
Hales said Sourcefire was applicable to firewall, IPS, Crossbeam and security resellers as well as service providers.
Sourcefire predominantly plays into the banking, government and education markets.
Computerlinks also distributes Crossbeam products. Hales said he would bundle a solution that involves Sourcefire running on Crossbeam.
The German-based distributor established a local presence in May last year and opened up a Melbourne office in April that includes both sales and technical staff. It also moved from its Frenchs Forest base to North Sydney to cater for extra warehousing space and training facilities.
