Multimedia takes up Tandberg

New distribution deal to see the Fujitsu range offered to system builders and integrators

Multimedia Technology has struck a distribution deal with storage vendor, Tandberg Data.

Multimedia marketing manager, Philip Jackson, said the vendor’s storage products would fit well with its range of Fujitsu servers.

Tandberg products come with an OEM back up version of Symantec BackUp Exec and range from single drives to medium-sized tape libraries and disk-based products.

“If you’ve got a customer buying a file server with some network attached storage, part of the process is how you manage and back up your data,” he said.

Multimedia will be offering the range to system builders and integrators that focus on the SMB, corporate and government spaces. The distributor markets to more than 5000 channel partners across the country.

“We’re looking at government and corporate tender opportunities where they’re searching for a reliable, cost effective tape or hard disk as a viable solution for business continuity,” he said. “We’re looking at a variety of educational processes so we can engage with the market over the next 90 days to identify and add more partners into our data base.”

Over the coming months, Multimedia will be hosting educational seminars for partners.
