Melbourne-based distributor, Synnex, has expanded its Sydney premises.

Synnex CEO, Kee Ong, said it was in-line with the distributor’s plans to expand all of its Australian warehouses.

“This year we had a plan to expand all of our warehouses in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth,” he said. “We plan to have double digit growth next year and we’ll fine tune our internal operations to make sure that we have the best efficiency in place and to provide added value to resellers.”

The new location spans over two units in the Sydney suburb of Lidcombe and is almost double in size; the previous premises was 2700sqm, the new location measures 5000sqm. In August, the distributor also doubled its Perth premises.

Ong said the distributor had increased its staff numbers this year by 100, taking the head count beyond the 320 mark.

“We had about a 30 per cent increase in staff numbers,” Ong said. “We don't know yet, whether we will continue to do that in. We’ll see how the economic situation goes.”
