Michael Bosnar has joined MailGuard
Five months after leaving CA, Michael Bosnar, has joined MailGuard as its first sales director.
Australia-based MailGuard has been around for seven years and focuses on managed Internet security solutions for SMEs. Initially selling direct, the company has evolved to a full channel model and has a couple of hundred partners across A/NZ.
“MailGuard is 100 per cent partner-focused, which was part of the attraction for me,” Bosnar said. “But it’s an area they needed to do some work in as they’ve not had a full sales and marketing plan in place – they’ve relied on a good product and customer and partner loyalty to grow the business.
“My job is to build the skills across the team and the strategy to get to that next level of growth.”
Bosnar claimed there was increasing customer demand for on-demand software and managed security solutions, which provided protection outside the customer’s environment.
“The pressure is on me to promote the products with partners to take advantage of the opportunities around software-as-a-service and on-demand security,” he said.
Bosnar was most recently the senior director of channels for CA, but left abruptly in May after nearly two years with the software vendor.
He said he had spent the last couple of months consulting and indulging in some personal time.
