Gen-i Australia has achieved Gold certification with Cisco
Gen-i Australia has boosted its qualifications by achieving Gold certification with Cisco.
General manager, Phil Varney, said the certification was important and fitted closely with Gen-i's business model.
“One of the key things for us is to have the most qualified people in our organisation, and part of that is to understand the business challenges our clients face, so we’re working closely with Cisco to identify those needs and challenges,” Varney said.
In order to meet the vendor’s requirements across unified communications, routing and switching, security and wireless LAN, the integrator undertook a review and upskilled where necessary.
The immediate focus for Gen-i over the next 12 months is helping customers through the expected tough times ahead. “We need to identify how best to help our customers through infrastructure and improving efficiency, while managing a lower overall cost,” Varney said.
He also claimed the Cisco partnership fitted well with the key relationship the integrator enjoys with Microsoft.
“Cisco forms part of a larger overall solution for us,” he said. “It allows us to add value to our clients' solutions by placing less reliance on Cisco and allows us to take a lead on design.”
