Impact Systems will target the MicroWorld range at SoHO, corporate and enterprise markets
NSW-based distributor, Impact Systems, has scooped up a new distribution deal with US-based security vendor, MicroWorld Technologies.
MicroWorld's security suite includes antivirus, anti-spyware and anti-spam products.
Impact managing director, Peter Agamalis, said some resellers had already been selling MicroWorld products and the vendor had looked to further increase its presence in the local market.
“They [MicroWorld] spent two weeks here scoping out the market on a mission to recruit resellers and sub-distributors,” he said.
Agamalis said Impact would target the MicroWorld range at SoHO, corporate and enterprise markets.
“We’ll be looking at the possibility of recruiting more security-based resellers and we’ll also be talking to ISPs because MicroWorld has got specific products for them as well,” he said. “MicroWorld is very ambitious about capturing market share in Australia.”
Agamalis said he would also bundle the products with its range of desktop PCs. MicroWorld has a sub-distribution agreement in place with Victorian-based software provider, Biz-Aid.
MicroWorld Oceania business development manager, Syed Tahir Hassan, said the vendor had been looking for a distribution partner that had a good channel presence in the Australian market.
“Impact has a very broad customer base which fits with the type of channel partners we are aiming at,” he said. “Having a local presence means that we will be able to quickly react to market opportunities and service our clients much better. We realise that Australia is a tech-centric country and we believe there is room for MicroWorld to expand on its eScan products in this region.”
Hassan said he was keen to recruit sub-distributors in WA, Queensland and NT.
