Computelec has partnered with Webroot
Victoria-based education reseller, Computelec, has partnered up with security services vendor, Webroot, to provide its full suite of products as an on-demand service.
Computelec national sales manager, Darren Elsby, said there was a great need in the education market for technical expertise and resources.
“The conversations I’ve been having with schools have been about offloading the responsibilities of server, storage and security infrastructure where possible,” he said. “The software-as-a-service, subscription type offerings can be quite appealing to schools.”
Elsby said Computelec would be tailoring the suite of Webroot Web and email security SaaS solutions to each school’s individual requirement.
“It’s in line with things like spam and web security, which schools don’t have time to resource,” he said. “It’s important to offer quality solutions to schools that help save them time and money.
“We’re consulting with lots of schools at the moment in terms of working with them on digital education funding and we’re making sure they understand that buying the cheapest possible box is not always the best thing. We’re also talking about sustainability and the financial implications.”
