Calvert Technologies has a new technical engineer and a new business development manager
Adelaide-based IT support and consulting company, Calvert Technologies, has appointed Puneet Awasthi as a technical engineer as part of plans to expand the company.
Awasthi was formerly a senior systems specialist for HCL Comnet, a subsidiary of HCL Technologies, and, most recently, a contracted Microsoft server and network engineer with South Australia’s Department of Families and Communities.
Managing director, Dean Calvert, said Awasthi will function as a technical resource in the office and on client sites while enabling Calvert greater freedom to focus on company strategy and growth plans.
“He has technical experience in a variety of fields and will come in and help the transition of the business from being centric around me, the SME problem, to having additional, capable people around the place,” Calvert said. “With my travelling around I can’t have the business centred on me and my relationships with clients; it has got to grow.”
In June, Calvert Technologies appointed Peter Kafka as a service coordinator as part of ongoing growth plans . However, both parties mutually agreed to part ways and a replacement is being sought.
Meanwhile, Calvert also appointed a new business development manager, George Williams, who will start in the role from next week. Williams returns to Adelaide after several years with Victorian-based PC hardware retailer, Amexcom.
The company now has nine staff and will look to expand to 16 by the same time next year and 22 within five years, Calvert said.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
