Fortune Tec has struck a distribution deal with NetStor Technology
NSW-based distributor, Fortune Tec, has struck a distribution deal with Taiwanese storage manufacturer, NetStor Technology, to expand its storage portfolio.
Fortune Tec managing director, Justin Hsu, said the company had decided to put a stronger emphasis on the external storage market this year to diversify from its PC and components heritage.
“We have seen sales declining in the whitebox PC manufacturing market,” he said. “With our current focus on distributing network attached storage (NAS), we’ve seen that market growing slowly but it’s steady.”
Hsu anticipated the new deal would add an extra 10 per cent to Fortune Tec’s bottom line. He saw the video and audio editing and broadcasting markets as potential candidates for NetStor’s products.
“The importance of having a fast storage solution plays a critical role for large file users,” Hsu said. “In the storage market we’re receiving lots of enquires from SMB customers that require small and large systems for their data security and backup.”
NetStor marketing and sales manager, Brian Yu, said the vendor was building its distribution network globally.
“Through this cooperation, Fortune Tec can provide zero-delay product sales and technical support services for Australian customers,” he said. “They have a good background in the server and storage market and can provide customers with full support and up-to-date technical information.”
Hsu will consider bundling the storage products with its range of Promise control cards.
Fortune Tec made it first foray into storage through its distribution deal with Synology last year.
