Disaster recovery software vendor, Acronis, has brought on Geeks2U to provide installation services for its product line.
Geeks2U is a national service agent with 120 mobile technicians who carry our repairs, as well as wireless and wired network installations, virus and spyware prevention and removal, data backup and recovery solutions.
Acronis general manager, Bill Taylor Mountford, said technical support organisations were a good way to reach the home and SMB market.
He claimed there were an increasing number of companies like Geeks2U springing up.
"Orders will still be done through Manaccom, who publish and distribute our products locally. We think it's important our distributor is involved in the process," Mountford said. "We're very open to partnerships with similar companies, as the home and SMB market is a big part of our business."
Geeks2U managing director, David Hancock, said the partnership with Acronis was in response to increasing demands for data backup assistance.
"Nine out of 10 customers don't have adequate backup solutions," Hancock said. "Making the software available for the technicians will help us solve one of the biggest areas where customers are falling down."
Hancock said Geeks2U would look to make more partnerships with other vendors based on the needs of users.
