Indian-based Unified Threat Management (UTM) vendor, Cyberoam, has formed its first Australian distribution partnership with MPA Systems.
Cyberoam vice-president of new business development, Harish Chib, said it had some large deployments previously but had appointed MPA to push its portfolio and partner base.
"MPA has a definite strength in the market with a nice platform to provide partners with and a large partner base. We're not a boxed [product] company, so MPA's willingness to have certified professionals in the solution is another advantage," he said.
MPA director, Guy Goodman, said the Cyberoam solution was a good fit with the Secure Computing firewall product the distributor also carries.
"We're not a commodity distributor, we like to offer value adding solutions and the Cyberoam line offers good margins for resellers as well as renewable subscriptions," Goodman said. "There's a big gap in the market for lower-end UTM products, which we feel Cyberoam fills nicely."
Chib said Cyberoam would not be looking for any further distributors in Australia. "We don't do direct sales and we don't believe in flooding the market, so we maintain an exclusive model in all regions we are active."
Cyberoam is sold in 55 countries across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
