Niche distributor, inTechnology, has launched a power management program to its channel.
InTechnology's BigFix Power Management is designed to help IT administrators monitor, manage and set standard desktop and notebook power settings. Administrators can set how long computers can stand idle before entering hibernation or standby mode, shut off the monitor and power down the hard drive.
According to inTechnology sales manager, Raymond Cacopardo, the product offers a ROI of five months and substantial reductions on the 39 per cent of energy consumption attributed to PCs within an organisation.
"It's a maturing market and CIOs are coming under pressure, both in terms of cost reductions and the carbon footprint," he said. "We're at the point where the product is ready and the market is ready, now we just need to find the partners."
Cacopardo said inTechnology was looking for motivated and focused partners, who would be tiered as Gold or Silver in the Channel Alliance Partner Program (i-CAP), based on training, commitment levels and forecasted turnover.
"Our business is based on centralised management and control," Cacopardo said. "BigFix allows a user to manage endpoints, so it fits in well with our business model."
