Emerson Network Power has appointed Mission Critical Systems (MCS) to develop its regional presence in South Australia.

MCS sales manager, Chris Tatchell, said Emerson was a good fit for the company, was a well known vendor in SA and enjoyed significant market share.

"Emerson is a stable partner and has a clear go-to-market strategy. For us it's a matter of duplicating its global strategy," he said.

MCS will actively work to educate people designing mission critical solutions and target mechanical contractors and VARs, Tatchell said.

Emerson director of marketing and communications, Peter Spiteri, said having a local presence in Adelaide was important for the vendor.

"We've been servicing SA from Melbourne. What we're finding is business in SA is going quite well and demand for a local presence has been growing," he said.

Emerson is represented nationally by Westcon Group. It also maintains regional distributors including Power Quality Controls in Queensland, J Mills in WA, Environmental Air in Tasmania, Proactive Solutions in the NT and SEMS in the Cairns and Townsville region.

Spiteri said the vendor was looking for electrical contracting distributors in Victoria and NSW.

"We could definitely bolster our support for the electrical contracting market there," he said.
