Warranty provider cuts ties with Fujitsu PC

Warranty services company, BP Computers, has terminated its relationship with Fujitsu PC after just eight months, claiming the contract was unmanageable.
BP Computers took over the contract from Fujitsu Australia in October last year. Company director, Chris Prax, said it had found the contract too difficult to manage.
"We can't manage their affairs, so we've decided to terminate the arrangement," he said.
Warranty support has now been handed over to a new business unit set up by Fujitsu PC distributor, Bluechip Infotech. The unit, Dingo Technologies, operates out of Bluechip's offices and is headed up by the distributor's managing director, Johnson Hsiung, according to Bluechip operations director, Brett Bradley. He insisted Dingo would operate independently of Bluechip.
The contract, which started on July 1, sees Dingo become Fujitsu's sole warranty services provider. Bradley confirmed it would service Fujitsu PC products sold by Bluechip as well as rival distributor, Multimedia Technology.
"It's a 12-month contract and if Fujitsu PC and ourselves are happy with it at the end of the year we can renew it," he said. "We may appoint other service partners in some states or areas, which is subject to approval by Fujitsu, but we expect most of the warranty PCs to be sent to the Sydney service centre."
Fujitsu PC head of education and corporate sales, Adrian Mead, refused to comment on the change in its warranty service providers.
