Victoria-based Techplus Distribution has bolstered its software-as-a-service (SaaS) portfolio and inked a new distribution deal with TriActive.
The vendor produces SaaS systems management on-demand technology, which includes asset and patch management, software distribution and categorisation, remote control, service desk and license compliance. Techplus managing director, Paul Kern, said TriActive did not require an upfront investment from partners.
"What this product does for us and our channel is provide an infrastructure-less way of providing managed services for $0 cost upfront," he said. "Most resellers and integrators are looking at managed services as a good revenue stream."
Kern said the new range complemented Techplus' portfolio of firewalls, WAN accelerators, VPNs and routers, which can all be managed through TriActive. He anticipated the new deal could add about $2 million to its bottom line in the first year.
"A lot of resellers we've come across so far have put together tools, bits and pieces to try and provide a service but they don't cover all angles," he said. "A lot of them are struggling to put those bits and pieces together - they don't have to do that anymore with the TriActive system."
Kern hinted Techplus was in the process of signing up more vendors.
Last month, TriActive inked a distribution deal with inTechnology. The vendor's Asia-Pacific managing director, Tom Galantomos, said Techplus had expertise in the managed services arena.
"They're already providing services to resellers rather than traditional time-and-place distribution," he said. "Unlike other offerings that are available in the local market, there's no upfront commitment, so partners can establish a managed services business with a positive cash flow."
