Local marketing vendor, DesignShop, has launched a solution to address some of the difficulties SMEs traditionally have with marketing and positioning.
Its services allow SMEs to design logos and other corporate imagery on an online interface using a variety of templates and royalty-free images, then attach the designs to business print products such as business cards.
Through partnerships with wholesale print companies the DesignShop solution can save SMEs 50 per cent on printing costs, the vendor claims. DesignShop creative director, Tony Eades, said many SMEs have difficulty building business because they lack the resources to generate adequate marketing materials.
"DesignShop is free to use to create basic marketing materials. Graphics designers can cost $100 or more an hour. With DesignShop customers pay once they're happy with the designs," Eades said.
DesignShop has doubled its registered users to 2000 in the last 18 months. It additionally has 20 larger corporate customers using its high-end Brand Manager service.
DesignShop launched in Perth in 2004 and relocated Sydney in 2007. The vendor now has six staff and plans on expanding to Melbourne within the next six months, followed by the UK and Europe.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
