Ingram Micro joins SanDisk's distribution stable

Ingram Micro has been appointed as a distributor for flash memory and audiovisual vendor, SanDisk.
SanDisk has two other distributors in Australia - Cellnet and Brightpoint. SanDisk country manager, Joshua Velling, said while there might be some crossover between distributors, he expected the appointment to have minimal impact.
Velling said SanDisk's aim was to cover the maximum breadth of markets possible.
"Ingram Micro has very good reach to the SMB community, so we'll be leveraging its infrastructure with our products that suit that space," he said.
Joint marketing initiatives will include events such as Ingram's Expotech national roadshow, which Ingram Micro hosted last week in Sydney. Velling said SanDisk would support the events throughout the country.
In a release, Ingram Micro director of product management and marketing, Matt Sanderson, said the arrangement with SanDisk reflected the distributor's growing focus on the consumer and home office market.
