KWorld sets up local presence
Taiwanese-based multimedia computer peripherals vendor, KWorld Computer, has set up a local presence in Canberra.
KWorld produces a range of analogue, digital (DVB-T), satellite and IPTV TV tuner options, video capture, video editing, music capture/editing and wireless PC and TV devices. The vendor has hired Carla Bridge as its regional sales manager. She will focus on recruiting more distributors and resellers that dabble in the multimedia market.
"This is a competitive area and our focus will be on partnering with local distributors to supply major retail, computer stores and the online market," she said. "We are going to be looking for a number of different distributors, but we don't want to cause any problems by having people that are distributing into the same channels."
Bridge said she was also in the process of putting together a marketing strategy to tackle market opportunities. KWorld has been previously sold in the local market through Electus Distribution, Rectron Electronics and Plus Corp.
"Resellers have previously gone to our head office in Taiwan to source products but now they are going to be channeled through myself," Bridge said. "Hopefully, that will allow me to put in place a more coordinated plan for the region. It is our intention to both maintain and grow KWorld's existing partnerships in the market."
Before joining KWorld, Bridge spent about five years with local distributor, G.D.B International, as its national sales and marketing manager for the consumer division.
