Melbourne-based consumables distributor, Tonnex International, has opened up a 495sqm distribution warehouse in the Brisbane suburb of Meadowbrook.
Director, George Solomon, said the company was growing fast along the eastern seaboard so Meadowbrook was an ideal location for serving that part of the market.
"We have identified Queensland as an expanding market. We also had customers asking us to be there so we could help them grow," he said. "We had enough customers in Queensland to make it feasible for us to build a warehouse and work on growth in the state."
Solomon said the company had three distribution staff at the new facility and he hoped to add two more sales and customer service staff by January.
He planned to have a branch in each state within the next 18 months.
Tonnex also recently became a supplier for news agency retail group, NewsInk, reselling OEM consumables such as ink cartridges and toners.
