Tonnex adds Brother printers

Melbourne-based consumables distributor, Tonnex International, has extended its deal with Brother to take on its printer range.

The two struck a partnership last year covering Brother's consumables. Tonnex director, George Solomon, said it had set itself specific goals to achieve in the market and the vendor had recognised its intentions.

"This just complements the growth we have shown in the consumables business for Brother," he said. "We can now offer a broader portfolio to our clients. Many of our resellers sell hardware to corporate organisations and it was a good opportunity for them to purchase Brother products."

Tonnex will be given access to the entire Brother range - from its mono laser printers through to its multifunction devices.

"We are also offering their P-touch labelling machine, which many of our resellers have been looking forward to," Solomon said. "It complements our range and adds a more diversity. It certainly drives us to become a one-stop supplier to many of the clients out there that are just looking for reliability, quick delivery and products at a really competitive rate."

Solomon hoped the extended Brother deal would add about 15 per cent to its bottom line.

Tonnex currently has about 600 resellers on its books. He said he would like to reach out to more clients across a broader spectrum.

"I believe the real benefits will come to the stationary resellers, computer stores and certainly dealers that are looking for a low-end machine to service the SOHO market," Solomon said.
