Altech Computers has landed an exclusive distribution deal with Bigfoot Networks to take on its Killer Network Interface Card (NIC).

Altech national marketing manager, Viktoria Kulikova, said the vendor offered a good range of products that completed its gaming product portfolio.

"After negotiations with Bigfoot, it was clear from both sides that we can offer the proper channel exposure for these kinds of products," she said. "We are so focused on gaming and we understand this market. They have high hopes to increase their share of the Australian market."

Killer NIC offers users quality play during action-packed moments, improved frame rates and helps to reduce in-game latency. Kulikova said Killer complemented other gaming products in its portfolio from Corsair and Antec. Altech will look at bundling the products with motherboards and VGA cards, she said.

"We will start with the Killer NIC and see how it goes. This is just an introduction - we are happy to get more products on-board if they don't conflict with the rest of the products that we carry and if there is a demand in the market," she said.

The interface card was targeted at the high-end gaming market as well as small network software companies with designers that use workstations, Kulikova said.

"More and more attention is paid to online gaming. This is one of the components that they can have as an option to upgrade their systems with," she said. "It's all about better connectivity between computers and the network."
