Coordimax recruits new state resellers

Business software vendor gets serious about dealer investment and training

Local business applications vendor, Coordimax, has locked in partners in each state as part of plans to push its services through the channel.

The new recruits are Task Exchange in NSW, Qtech in Qld, Random Computing in Canberra and Resource Systems in WA. Coordimax also has a relationship with ASI Solutions in Adelaide, which it won its first sale in April with Contract Resources. Coordimax is distributed by Ingram Micro.

Managing director, Martin O'Connor, said it wanted one partner in each area. He claimed each would be able to pick up significant revenue from specialising in services around its business software modules.

"Traditionally, we have been a developer and seller of the software, but up until now we have also been the people who do the configurations and installations. What this will do is turn us into a licensing company," he said. "It is quite learning curve with our product so we need to go out and train all the partners, which has started."

O'Connor said partners were taken through an installation and accreditation phase. They were also supplied with an internal 10-user license.

"We are not really looking for hundreds of partners. We need to focus on ones that have got the skills and are willing to invest," he said. "We deliberately charged people to be accredited, which was about $3000 each but we wanted them to have some skin in the game, so we knew they were serious about it."
