Jetro looks for Australian partners

US-based server applications vendor, Jetro Platforms, is calling for a local distributor to assist with its launch into the Asia-Pacific market.

Jetro, which would officially enter the Australian market in February, aimed to target old Citrix users and the Microsoft terminal services space with its CockpIT centralised applications deployment and management software platform, managing director Asia-Pacific, Michael Abel, said.

"Citrix has moved away from the server-based computing space and that is market that Jetro is targeting," he said.

The SMB market would benefit from CockpIT because of its price of $160, Abel said. This was less than half the price of Citrix. Customers would be charged a nominal $70 fee to transfer to CockpIT.

The vendor is also looking for channel partners that have previously dabbled in Citrix or Microsoft terminal services as well as host managed services and ASP solutions.

"The Citrix solution has become quite expensive particularly for SMB," Abel said. "This type of platform would help resellers and service integrators overcome the pricing problem when they offer this solution."

Partners would be provided with marketing tools and customer discount offers.
