Lasso Logic this week unveiled an appliance that continuously backs up servers, desktops and laptops for small and mid-sized businesses.
The Lasso CDP appliance backs up files over a network and allows users to recover data. The appliance is Linux-based and operates on any Windows network.
The Lasso CDP appliance backs up data and applications as they are running and lets users recover files they may have lost from any point in time. The appliance supports Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server, QuickBooks, Goldmine, Peachtree, ACT and Great Plains.
A CDP agent intercepts data between the database and the disk, allowing servers to be backed up in real time. Data can also be sent to off-site storage without user intervention. The appliance can be used to archive data on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis and retain that data for unlimited periods.
The Lasso CDP appliance is available now, starting at US$2,000 for a 1.6T-byte capacity appliance that supports 100 users and unlimited servers.
