New distributor Raidar Distributions Australia (RDA) has established operations in Sydney as sole distributor of Australian designed and manufactured high-end RAID products from Raid Systems.
Based in Marrickville, RDA provides high-end RAID solutions "geared towards a niche market - desktop publishing, pre-press, video-editing and Web publishing", according to RDA's managing director, Jaime Terauds.
RDA also provides first-level product support, full dealer training and marketing services for Raid Systems' family of RAID array sub-systems, and is actively involved with dealers in pinpointing sales leads and so on.
Terauds said RDA has the unique opportunity to distribute a RAID solution where one company has handled all aspects of design and manufacture through to software development and construction, and has access to the technicians at Raid Systems who designed and constructed the systems they distribute.
Nick Schlensky, product manager for Raid Systems, told ARN that RDA was "established to provide the sales, marketing and support which Raid Systems couldn't offer. An added plus for us is that RDA is small and focused on our products.
"RDA is working for leaner margins too, which means lower prices for the end user," he said.
Terauds said that RDA is keen to expand its dealer-base throughout Australia: "We're looking for four or five dealers in each state to form their own vertical markets."
The company is also expanding its product range and will soon offer Minute Man UPS systems, Sony backup solutions and high-end monitors.
